Krokos (Saffron)

Plant “Krokos” is also known as Zafora and Saffron. Kroko’s history starts in Middle East as it has been used by both Cleopatra and Pharaoh as perfume.

It was also known in ancient Greeks for its medicinal properties. Moreover, it has been used as bath perfume and aphrodisiac, while Arabs was using it as anesthetic. Even in the Old Testament and Homer’s texts reports about “Krokos” were found.
